- Check toggles first. Outline OFF? Character notes hidden?
- Clear stale instructions. Delete old prompts above the cursor.
- Retry with smaller steps. Break a huge ask into two smaller ones.
If it still feels funky, flip ALL OFF, generate one clean paragraph, then gradually toggle docs back ON. This lets you isolate exactly which source is steering the model.
Hint: A good way to diagnose a bad or mixed up output is to use the binoculars button (Prompt Preview) located at the top of the document editor. This shows you exactly what is getting sent to the LLM.
