What Co-writer Can Do

Co-writer is a seasoned developmental editor, writing coach, and ghostwriter who lives inside your writing workspace and never sleeps. It can:
- Read every document in your project (when toggled on)
- Identify timeline gaps, point-of-view drift, and character inconsistencies
- Create new documents or reorganize folders upon request
- Brainstorm ideas, develop characters, and work through plot problems
Because Co-writer integrates directly into Plotdrive, it stays current with your latest changes and can manage document creation and reorganization. It's the always-on creative partner that remembers everything so you can focus on writing the next sentence.
Co-writer Modes
Co-writer has different modes for different tasks:
| Mode | What It's For |
| Ask | Quick answers and questions about your writing |
| Agent | Co-writer makes changes directly in your workspace |
| Support | Billing, account, technical issues, and bug reports |
Important: If you need help with your writing (brainstorming, editing, plot questions), use Ask or Agent mode. Support mode is only for product help, billing, and technical issues — it connects you with our support team, not your writing assistant.
You can switch modes using the mode selector at the top of the Co-writer panel.
Starting Fresh
If Co-writer seems confused or stuck, click the + button at the top of the Co-writer panel to start a new chat. Your documents and project are preserved — you just get a clean conversation with fresh context.
Support Mode
Click the Support icon to switch Co-writer to Support mode. This lets you:
- Troubleshoot errors
- Manage billing and credits
- Report bugs
- Ask questions about how Plotdrive works
Our AI support bot handles initial responses. If it can't resolve your issue, it will escalate to a human team member.
